What kind of potato is a sweet potato?
Sweet potato has been on the rise for the past couple of years. The mild sweet taste and a high content of beta-carotene are it’s main perks. It’s also high in starch, vitamins, minerals and carbs, which makes it a high energy food. It’s very beneficial for people who suffer from diabetes.
There are many ways to use it, and here’s a very simple one. All you need is a sweet potato that you don’t even have to peel, some ajvar, and a functioning oven. We recommend this dish for dinner, movie snack, or for when friends are coming over.
Crunchy sweet potatoes with ajvar is food that’s easy to take with you, and both vegans and meat eaters will enjoy it.
1 large sweet potato
1 cup of olive oil
salt to taste
5g ground dried peppers
100g of ajvar
Thoroughly wash sweet potato, and peel if desired. Peeling is an optional step, but you might wish to remove any damaged or uneven parts of the skin.
Cut up the potato into thick slices, and dress them in the mixture of oil and spices.
Spread the slices in a pan lined with baking paper, and bake for 10 minutes at 200C. Serve with ajvar as a dip.
