Bruschetta with basil and ajvar

Unexpected guests have popped up, or you just suddenly feel hungry. And as luck would have it, there is nothing in the fridge. On top of it, baguette is a couple of days old, and starting to get pretty dry. Despair not, there is both a simple and delicious solution for this problem.
Bruschetta with basil and ajvar will save the day in 10 minutes. Quick and easy, with just a few simple ingredients, you can serve up a treat no one could find fault with. You can’t go wrong, the main thing is that you don’t panic.
Of course, bruschetta with basil and ajvar are not just for emergencies. They are perfect for any time of day, breakfast, dinner, as appetizers, or even picnic fare.

1 baguette

1 cup extra virgin olive oil

2 cloves of garlic

1 bunch of basil

100g of ajvar


Slice baguette thinly, then rub each slice with halved garlic for aroma.

Make a mixture of chopped basil and olive oil, and spread on bread slices.

Line slices in a pan lined with baking paper, and bake briefly at 200C, until light golden.

Top each slice with a teaspoon of ajvar, and serve with a white cheese of your choice.
