Ajvar oven stew (đuveč) is a true example of how just a few spoons of ajvar transform one ordinary dish into a feast for all the senses. If you are fond of pizza or any other kind of dough, you will be nuts about pide. Pide, or Turkish version of pizza, is a soft dough filled with various stuffings. For this occassion, we have chosen a juicy combination of chopped beef and ajvar. The soft aromatic mackerel meat cooked with fresh spices and our spicy ajvar is somewhat piquant and irresistibly delicious. And for a complete gourmet experience, we recommend it with a refreshing cold seasonal vegetable salsa salad. They look fantastic and taste even better. These savoury balls are a real feast for the eyes. The wonderfully creamy balls, aromatised with ajvar, herbs, nuts, and sun-dried tomato, have fine stuffed olives hidden within, making them a tasty snack, which you pick joyfully just like a box of chocolates. The traditional recipe uses almost identical ingredients and what makes it different from our satarash is the way eggs are prepared, which are poached in a thick aromatic sauce, so that they remain whole and absorb all the wonderful flavors of vegetables and give the dish a beautiful appearance.
